Season Standings

Here are the current money standings for the 2009-2010 season. Only players who have a net profit are shown. For games in which the "high hand" contest was included in the buy-in, only the portion of the buy-in that went toward the tournament prize money was counted, and the high hand does not count toward the winnings. (Which explains why the amounts are not whole dollars.)

1. Mike C. +$116.25
2. Dave Cl. +$91.25
3. Ian B. +$15.82
4. Dave Co. +$11.25
5. Darren C. +$4.57
6. Bob T. +$0.82

We had nearly a full table of 9 players for a $30 buy-in event on Friday night:

Aaron B.
Bob T.
Darren C.
Dave Co.
Dave T.
Eric H.
Ian B.
Mike C.
Tom H.

Congrats to Mike for coming back from a short stack and taking down first place for $135! Tom H. finished second after donkey-calling with K-8 against Ian's 8-8, and hitting a runner-runner straight, to make it into the money. (good to know that First Bank of Ian is open late on Fridays). Bob T. took third place.

Ian took early lead in the "high hand" contest, turning his Q-9 into Q-Q-Q-9-9 on the very first hand of the night, but later Dave Co. had A-A, flopped a set of Aces, but needed the board to pair on the river just to stay alive, as Eric made a straight on the turn. A King hit the river, giving Dave A-A-A-K-K for the high hand of the night and $45.

Next game: Corky Cup III on Friday, November 6! Per Ian's request, I am creating a new "More Gay Songs" playlist on my iPod in preparation for the big event...

Night 2 of the 2009-2010 Season

We had 8 players pony up $30 for a four-hour game on Friday night:

Bob T.
Dave Cl.
Dave Co.
Dave T.
Eric H.
Ian B.
Mike C.
Tom H.

The host and author of this post has few details because he only lasted an hour and ten minutes into the four hour game.

Congrats to Dave Cl. for taking home first place and $120! Dave Co. was second ($70), and Mike C. was 3rd ($40).

Dave Co. took home high hand ($10), but I can't remember the hand! Pretty sure it was a full house though. And I'm glad we're getting a "full house" for the home games again!
